The History of Waterfront Logistics

Waterfront Logistics was founded in 2021 by Bill Peratt, a veteran executive with more than 30 years of leadership in the global supply chain industry. Bill has led national trucking and warehousing organizations and served as CEO of multiple marine terminals, including Total Terminals International at the Port of Long Beach. He also held senior leadership roles with Maersk, where he oversaw Damco Distribution Services and helped drive the company’s expansion in warehousing and distribution across North America.
Bill’s career has been defined by building and transforming logistics infrastructure. He pioneered dedicated trucking solutions for global logistics companies, established off-dock depots and container yards to relieve port congestion, and led the opening of an 85-acre flagship facility at the Port of Los Angeles. These projects embodied his ability to blend operational innovation with customer-centric execution.
From its start, Waterfront was designed as more than a logistics provider — it was envisioned as a partner to customers and a home for its people. The ownership group and leadership team bring decades of experience across maritime, trucking, warehousing, and global logistics. Leaders such as Ricardo Herrero (CFO), Joe DeSaye (Managing Partner), Weston LaBar (Chief Strategy Officer), and Javier Garcia Atique (Chief Commercial Officer) bring international finance, M&A, industry advocacy, and global commercial expertise, creating a team uniquely positioned to scale solutions for complex supply chains around the world.
At the heart of Waterfront is Bill’s vision: to build a people- and customer-centric organization that treats every shipment, every container, and every mile as if it were our own. This belief inspired the company credo: “We move it like we own it.”
It is more than a slogan — it is a standard of accountability and care that guides every decision, every service, and every relationship at Waterfront Logistics.
